Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what an app needs to work, we never sell your data, we don’t show ads, and you can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
This policy explains how Liven Labs (“we”, “us”) handles personal data on this website (livenlabs.app) and in our apps: Foodoo, Potpal and Fluffpaw (together, the “Services”). The three apps share one Liven Labs account, so you can sign in to each with the same login.
1. What we collect
When you visit this website
- Anonymous usage statistics through Plausible Analytics: pages viewed, referrer, country and device type. Plausible sets no cookies and stores no IP addresses or personal identifiers, so we show no cookie banner.
- What you send us through the contact or “Notify me” forms: your name, email address and message. These are delivered to us by Formspree.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for security, for a short period.
When you use our apps
- Account data: email address and name, or the identifiers provided by Sign in with Apple or Google. If you start without an account, we create a guest account and keep a one-way hash of your device’s identifier (and, on iPhone, use Apple’s DeviceCheck) so that one phone gets one free guest account.
- Content you add: meals, photos, voice notes and text you log in Foodoo; plants, pets, their photos, care tasks, medical records and documents in Potpal and Fluffpaw; messages you write to the in-app characters and in shared chats; profile details such as age, height, weight, goals and allergies that you choose to enter.
- Health data (Foodoo, iOS): only if you allow it, Foodoo reads and writes data in Apple Health (for example nutrition, water and weight). Health data is used solely to provide the features you turned on, is never used for advertising or marketing, is never sold, and is never shared with third parties except as needed to provide the Service to you.
- Children’s information you enter (Foodoo kids’ diary): a child’s first name, birth month and known allergies, added by a parent or carer. Children do not have accounts.
- Purchases: subscription status and transaction identifiers from Apple, Google and RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
- Device and technical data: push-notification tokens, app version, language, time zone, and crash reports (which may include device model and OS version).
Some features work only on your phone and their data never reaches us — for example photo-portion calibration, place memories (location is stored on the device only), gallery suggestions and on-device food recognition.
2. How we use it
- To run the Services: sync your data between devices, analyse the food, plant or pet photos you send, write your characters’ replies, send the reminders you set up.
- To manage subscriptions and limits of the free plan.
- To keep the Services safe: prevent abuse, handle reports in shared chats, fix crashes.
- To answer you when you write to us, and — only if you asked — to tell you when an app launches.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not use your photos or messages to train our own AI models.
3. AI processing
When you ask an app to analyse a photo, voice note or text, or to reply as a character, the content is sent to our server and from there to an AI provider (currently Google’s Gemini API) to produce the answer. Spoken character messages are produced with ElevenLabs from the text of the message. These providers process the content on our behalf under their API terms and do not use it to train their models. AI answers are estimates and may be wrong.
4. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run the Services, each bound to process data on our instructions:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloud hosting and database providers | Running our servers and storing your data |
| Google (Gemini API) | AI analysis and character replies |
| ElevenLabs | Voice messages |
| RevenueCat, Apple, Google | Subscriptions and purchases |
| Expo, Apple Push, Firebase Cloud Messaging | Push notifications |
| Sentry | Crash reports |
| SendGrid | Service emails |
| Plausible, Formspree | Website statistics and forms |
Content you choose to share — a dish in a group chat, a caretaker link for your pet, a family household — is visible to the people you share it with. We may also disclose data if required by law.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is deleted from our systems within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records by law (for example, purchase records). Form messages are kept as long as needed to answer you.
6. Your rights and choices
- Delete your account in any app under Profile → Delete account, or by emailing us.
- Access, correct or export your data, or object to or restrict processing, by emailing privacy@livenlabs.app.
- Turn off Apple Health access, notifications or location in your phone’s settings at any time.
- If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have rights under the GDPR and may complain to your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
We process personal data to perform our contract with you (providing the Services), on the basis of your consent (for example Apple Health access and launch notifications), and for our legitimate interests in keeping the Services secure and working.
7. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access is limited to what is needed, and sign-in tokens are kept in your phone’s secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect yours.
10. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the apps. Questions? Write to privacy@livenlabs.app.
